Pedestal Sealer Stand

General

Pedestal Sealer Stands are stationary pedestals that will dispense the required adhesive or sealant directly onto the part. Typically, the material handling robot will grab the part and move into position. Once in position, the material will be dispensed from the shot meter, which will control the amount of material dispensed onto the part. While the material is dispensed, the material handling robot will move the part in a programmed path so that all the material is dispensed. After all material is dispensed onto the part, the material handling robot will move to the next station.

On the 2V08 Sideskin Roof Outer Cell, there is one (1) Pedestal Sealer Stands. It is located on the following station:

Major Components (Central Lube Unit)

The Central Lube Unit of the Pedestal Sealer Stand features the following components.

Item Description Function
A Solenoid Valve The solenoid valve switches the compressed air supply to the double diaphragm pump and is actuated with an electrical signal from the controller.
B Local Switch Main switch of the assembly. Place in the On position to enable the Central Lubrication Unit.
C Oil Filter Filters fine glue residue from the release agent.
D Double Diaphragm Pump Pumps the release agent to the dosing unit.
E Process Filter Filters course glue residue from the release agent.
F Quick-Release Clamp The cover plate is pressed against the plastic container / gasket by means of the snap-lock.
G Plastic Container Reservoir for the release agent.

Major Components (EOAT)

The End of Arm Tooling (EOAT) of the Pedestal Sealer Stand features the following components.

Item Description Function
A Dosing Unit Precisely measures and dispenses the correct amount of sealant material required. The unit is comprised of a servo drive motor, leaking indicator, bearing housing, and planetary gear unit.
B Pressure Sensor Regulates and monitors the control air for the barrel pump and valves at the pump and doser.
C Dosing Valve Controls the flow of the sealant material through the system. The dosing valve operates by opening and closing a passage that allows the sealant to flow through the system.
D Applicator Applies the sealant material to the surface being sealed.
