Trunnion

General

There is one (1) trunnion fixture (RCM-030-TT) located in the 2V13 Sub Floor Cross Member Cell. Trunnion fixtures allow for multiple fixtures to be used within the same station. The trunnion fixtures feature a servo motor that allows for the fixture to rotate, allowing for the other fixture to be used. Typically, the trunnion fixture allows for different models or parts to be used within the same cell.

Major Components

The Trunnion features the following components.

Item Description Function
A Headstock Support structure for the trunnion assembly and is responsible for holding, positioning and turning the trunnion securely.
B Tailstock Support structure for the trunnion assembly and is responsible for alignment, centering, and clamping of the part.
C Index Table Rotates the entire trunnion up to 360 degrees when driven by the servo motor, to switch between the robots access to the Geo Fixtures.
D Servo Motor Siemens SIMOTICS 1FT7108-5AC71-1CH1 synchronous motor attached to the index table that allows for rotation of the trunnion.
