Tool Changer

General

RSP Tool Changers are used to automatically swap tooling (weld and material handling tools) between robot EOAT. The robot approaches the Weld Gun Change Stand, the Tool Changer deposits the current tool onto the stand, and then grabs the new tool to be used for the next process.

Tool Changers are located on the following robots:

  • 2V10=V01AR11
  • 2V10=V01AR31
  • 2V10=V01AR81

Major Components

The Tool Changer features the following components.

Item Description Function
A Weld Power Cable Three weld power conductors attached to the tool attachment.
B Safety Signal Module Internal control signals are safely interlocked internally. The tool changer will not open, independent of control signal orders from the robot controller, unless it is empty, or when the tool changer with tool attachment and tool docked is safely positioned in a tool stand.
C Tool Attachment Main part of the tool changer, locking on or releasing the current tool and locking onto a new tool.
D Integrated Valves The Close Valve's passive position is open, which locks the tool changer. The Open Valve's passive position evacuates the air from the unlocking side of the piston inside the tool changer, allowing the tool to be locked.
E Water / Air Couplings Water and air connections to the tool changer with non-return valves.
