Turntable

General

There are two (2) turntables located in the 2V03 Underbody Floor Skin Cell, made by Weiss. There are two (2) models of the turntable (CR1000 and CR2000). The CR1000 series is located at Station 070, and the larger CR2000 is located in the laser cutting booth at Station 090.

Each turntable has two (2) to four (4) Geo Fixtures attached to the top. The turntables allow either the operator or robot to easily access all Geo Fixtures by rotating the table to the properly position for access. When the operation is completed, the turntable rotates and the process is completed. To rotate the Geo Fixtures, the turntable features a Siemens SIMOTICS servo motor that allows for the turntable to rotate to the correct position.

Major Components (CR1000)

Item Description Function
A Service Union The service union allows for all incoming air to be distributed to required equipment such as manifolds, clamps, etc.
B Servo Motor Siemens SIMOTICS 1FT7108-5AC71-1CH1 synchronous motor that allows Allows for turntable to rotate to the required working position.
C Metal Bellows Coupling Flexible coupling connecting the motor shaft to the turntable shaft.
D Gear Part of the motorized drive system that rotates the table in precise increments, enabling accurate positioning and repeatability. The gear is connected to the motor through a coupling, and it meshes with a rack or a pinion mounted on the rotary table. The gear and pinion system allows the motor to rotate the table in a controlled and precise manner, with a high degree of accuracy and repeatability.
E Position Sensors Detects the position of the turntable. There are four (4) positions: All Stop, P1 Position, P2 Position, and P3 Position. These sensors are attached to a Murrelectronik fieldbus I/O panel to send signals back to the system CPU.
F Vent Screw Used to relieve build-up pressure or allow air to escape from the interior of the rotary table during operation.
G Additional Encoder Provides an additional feedback signal to the controller, allowing for increased accuracy and precision in positioning. By comparing the signals from the two encoders, any discrepancies or errors in the positioning of the table can be detected and corrected in real-time, resulting in increased accuracy and precision in the table's movement.
H Sight Glass Used to check the oil level for the turntable.
